For the team at Mustaqim environment in general and particular to the customer and to our employees is of paramount importance. The Company uses environmental friendly dyes & chemicals, which do not cause harm to human health for which Company is also certified to Okeo-Tex Standard 100.

Considering the effects that manufacturing is currently having on the environment, the Environmental Management System at Mustaqim is being designed to enable the organization to maximize its beneficial effects and to minimize its adverse effects.

The environmental policy at Mustaqim is based on a suitable approach, which will not only be helpful in reducing negative effects on the surrounding environment, but also recognize the safety of employees, community and customers and develop products that have no negative environmental impacts.

– The Company will establish and maintain documented environmental management system and practices as per International and National Standards.

– The Company will provide training to all its employees including Managers level to workers level and as well as the top management. This will be helpful in giving them understanding as how to conduct their activities in an environmentally friendly manner.

– The Company will create a system for conducting environmental audits on regular basis to ensure proper monitoring of the environmental objectives and systems.

– The Company will try and reduce waste and the consumption of resources i.e. materials, fuel and energy.

– The Company will monitor and control effluent discharges, air emissions and use of hazardous and non-hazardous material where possible.

– The Company beliefs in continuous improvement and ensuring that environmental policy and its objectives will be made available to any interested party upon request.

Health & Safety Policy

For Mustaqim a clean, healthy and safe atmosphere is the most important and highly motivating factor, which will play role in establishing the concept of employee involvement and job satisfaction.

Keeping in mind the prevailing knowledge of the industry and of specific hazards, the Company is committed to the possible extend for providing a safe and healthy working environment.

1 – The Company will provide and implement safe systems of work with a view to minimizing the incidence of injury and property damage accidents.

2 – The Company will ensure that employees are aware of their responsibilities in respect of health and safety matters.

3 – The Company will encourage the use of personal protective equipment, safety instructions/posters, safe handling of material and use of safety instructions/procedures.

4 – The Company will provide safety training for all employees including new appointees.

5 – The Company will design system and maintain proper equipment for fire prevention, fire protection and fire fighting, and as well as for evacuation in case of emergency.

6 – The Company will provide for use of all personnel clean bathrooms, access to potable water and sanitary facilities for food storage.

7 – The Company will make this health & safety policy and its objectives available to any interested party upon request.

Social Compliance Policy

Based on the principles of international human rights norms as described in International Labor Organization Conventions, the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and National/Local Labor Laws, Mustaqim has developed the following codes of conduct under which products are to be manufactured.

Laws & Workplace Regulations:

The Company will comply with laws & regulations in all business locations.

No Child Labor:

The Company will not engage in or support the use of child labor.

No Forced Labor:

The Company will not use any involuntary or forced labor- indentured, bonded or otherwise.

Health & Safety:

The Company will provide employees with a safe and healthy work environment. The Company will ensure prevention of accidents and injury. Clean & sanitary support facilities; access to potable water and safety training will also be a part of Company’s policy.

Freedom of Association:

The Company will recognize and respect the rights of employees to associate, organize, and bargain collectively in a lawful and peaceful manner, without penalty or interference.


The Company will employee, pay, promote and terminate workers on the basis of their ability to do the job, rather than on the basis of personal characteristics or beliefs.

No Harassment or Abuse:

The Company will provide a work environment free of harassment, abuse or corporal punishment in any form.

Hours of Work:

Hours worked each day, and the days worked each week shall not exceed the legal limitations. The Company will provide at least one day off in every seven-day period, except as required to meet urgent business needs.

Compensation & Benefits:

The Company will pay at least the minimum total compensation as required by local law, including those relating to minimum wages, overtime, maximum hours, piece rates and other elements of compensation, provide legally mandated benefits.


The Company will comply with environmental rules, regulations & standards applicable to their operations & will observe environmentally conscious practices in all locations of business.

Customs Compliance:

The Company will comply with applicable custom laws regarding illegal transshipment of products.

Drug Interdiction:

The Company cooperates with local, national and foreign customs and drug enforcement agencies to guard against illegal shipments of drugs. This social compliance policy and its objectives will be made available to any interested party upon request. We also expect these same commitments to be shared by all suppliers of Mustaqim.

Sharp-Tools & Metal Policy

– Mustaqim stitching units are capable to demonstrate its commitment for implement the sharp tools and metal contamination policy.

– All stitching units must follow the Broken Needle Policy

– Clippers or scissors must be securely fastened with the work station or machine.

– Clippers, scissors and other sharpen tools if any must be counted out and in at the end of each day/shift by the Line Supervisor.

– General housekeeping is properly carried out with vacuum cleaners to prevent the loosed stray metal components.

– Products are 100% passed through the conveyor metal detector as finished goods after packing & labelling.

– It is the Mustaqim’s and its entire team responsibility to ensure that no products are contaminated and workers will not use / wear any type of metal ring / watch etc. Therefore, workers who are working inside metal zone will not use any type of metal item. Similarly, the use of pins and staples is not allowed in metal free zone.

– Conveyor metal detectors include:

– an automatic rejection device which returns the contaminated product.

– a stop bell with an alarm

“REACH” is a European Regulation introduced by EEC in order to regularize the existence of all available chemical substances within Europe, which are used in all the products; either made in Europe or being imported in Europe from outside. Precisely, “REACH” ensures that each chemical substance; that is as low as 0.1% of the total size of the product; is totally environmental and health friendly. Henceforth, all harmful and hazardous chemicals for health and environment are to be registered so that the control could be made effectively.

Mustaqim is pleased to announce that as a Reliable and an Environmental Friendly and a Fully Social Compliant Responsible company, Mustaqim has already taken care of following steps:

– Achieved Certification for the Tested of Harmful Substances Certification against Oeko Tex Standard 100 (Class I) certified by Testex / Swiss Textile Testing Institute.

– Achieved Certification for the Social Accountability Systems against SA8000: 2001 Standard certified by ALGI.

– Achieved Quality Management Systems Certification – ISO 9001: 2000 Standard certified by TQCSI.

– Achieved ECO Certificate issued from our honorable Customer M/s. Otto Group Germany.

– Became the first manufacturer & Exporter of Home Textile Products from Karachi, Pakistan to be installing and generating Effluent Waste Water Treatment Plant.

As for as REACH regulation is concerned, according to the compliances regulation, we have to ensure that all chemical substances that we are using in the complete manufacturing cycle for all the goods to be exported to all EEC Countries are completely free of any SVHC (Substance of Very High Concern). As per the basic REACH protocols, Mustaqim; having their manufacturing facilities situated out-side European Countries, can not get registered with REACH, however, Mustaqim still has to ensure that all chemical substances which are used for all EEC customers are completely free of SVHC, as listed in the following controlled list by ECHA (European Chemical Agency).


Mustaqim is pleased to announce that as of now; all it’s products are Completely Free of all SVHC, as listed & confirmed by ECHA in the list published by them.

However, as it is a continuous process, Mustaqim has been critically monitoring this list on a regular periodically basis. Mustaqim also been keeping a very close liaison with all it’s Dyes & Chemical suppliers, which happen to be All European companies. Furthermore, Mustaqim has also been conducting awareness sessions for all packaging suppliers to be more vigilant for the REACH obligation so that it is fully controlled at all the levels of the manufacturing within the company.
