Corporate Social Responsibility.
Being part of “G&T Group”, Mustaqim carries a commendable traditional identity for performing all social responsibilities at corporate level. In it’s strive to improve the performance of Corporate Social Responsibilities, Mustaqim has introduced “BMP (Best Management Practices”, which is focused for the social & community developments through extending help in food, education, health & better environment.
Few of the initiatives that have been undertaken are as follow:
Initiating “Best compliant department of the month” practice to keep the motivation high at all the times.
Initiating “Best compliant workers of the month” to initiate a positive and healthy inter-competition amongst all workers to perform their due role as per code of conduct received by our valuable customers, per local laws and per healthy working environment practices.
Initiating “Monthly attendance allowance” to encourage continuous attendance.
Initiating Free school fees, books and uniforms for workers’ children.
Monthly distribution of subsidized flour wheat 20kg to each worker drawing salary up-to Pak Rs. 15,000 per month.
In-House Clinic with medical assistance.
Initiating “Celebration of Enabled Workers Day” to show our solidarity with people having any physical disability.
Disbursement of wages & salary through bank account for transparent wages distribution.
In addition to above, Mustaqim has also formed and implemented a specific program for SHE (Safety, Health & Environment)
Mustaqim has a firm commitment towards making its workers’ lives better at the workplace and outside the factory premises. In line with this, it strictly adheres to the Safety, Health & Environment guidelines as stipulated by the International Finance Corporation to ensure the well-being of its employees.
To achieve these objectives, Mustaqim is involved in various awareness programs and training drills as follows:

Awareness sessions on HIV/AIDS & Thalisimia.
Free of charge vaccination of all company Employees vaccinations against Hepatitis B
Fire fighting training.
First aid training.

Mustaqim has a clear vision to adopt all operations through sustainable approach. In this concern, Mustaqim is “Going Green” for adopting environmentally friendly and sustainable practices. In this concern, several projects are running at the same time, showing it’s commitment towards a greener society. Some of the key projects undertaken as part of the scheme are as follow:
First manufacturing plant in Karachi having fully operational WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT.
Treating the waste water to comply with Local EPA’s prevailing NEQS and World Bank Standard for liquid discharge requirement.
Active member of Solid Waste Management Program.
Saving 3 trees a month by recycling the paper.
Using Azo-Free dyes & chemicals & certified with Oko-Tex (Class 1) certificate.
Have converted plant generators & boilers from diesel to gas to avoid extra emission of CO in the environment.
Have converted all standard operating procedures of the plant according to the Energy Conservation Program.
Have modified our office area to utilize maximum day light in order to avoid extra usage of bulbs
Have built office area in a way that maximum natural air is utilized and usage of air conditions is minimized.
Have started replacing standard bulbs & tube lights with the energy savers to avoid extra emission of CO & CO2 in the environment.
Using longer lasting batteries in order to avoid the emission of extra CO in the environment during dispose off process.
Maintaining noise level with in the manufacturing area according to same standard as described by UNO.
Using recycled packaging material… even for the visiting cards.
Mustaqim has vision to use “The Better Cotton” which aims to reduce the amount of water and chemicals used to grow cotton and improve social and economic benefits for cotton farmers, small and large in order to manage the resources and responsibility.
Some of the key factors of the Better Cotton are:
Minimize the harmful impact of crop protection practices
Use water efficiently and care for the availability of water
Care for the health of the soil
Conserve natural habitats
Care for and preserve the quality of the fibre
Promote decent work
